Monday November 4, 2002 (cont.): When we got home, Brenda from the villa rental agency was there with the gardener (I have forgotten his name) planting some more plants in the villa yard. Turns out Brenda was born in Hannibal, Missouri (it was amazing how many Missouri connections we made on this trip!) She has lived all over and now lives in Anguilla. They are doing a beautiful job with the landscaping at the villa! The yard is fenced and they have gates which are kept closed at all times to keep the goats out. They don't however, keep out the little hens and her chicks. After talking to Brenda we took another dip in the pool, a shower and off to dinner at Serenity. This is an absolutely beautiful HUGE restaurant! The setting is ideal on Upper Shoal Bay. The road to get there is a bit of an adventure but definitely one worth taking! We were quite surprised to be the only diners there that night. While we were waiting for dinner we walked down to and along the beach. Because it was a new moon we couldn't see much, but it was still nice to feel the sand between our toes. For dinner I had lobster bisque and shrimp scampi. Mike had beer batter fried shrimp. This food is very rich! And quite tasty! The service here was second to none (very fast and attentive without hovering) - the best service we had our entire trip (and that is saying a lot as we had good service everywhere but Roys)! We split a piece of cheesecake for dessert. A couple of diet cokes and water and a total bill of $100. Went back to the villa to watch a bit of tv then off to dreamland. |
